Edmonton rent prices continue to rise, but it looks like the pace is slowing

Rent prices in Edmonton continue to rise, with a 4.5% annual increase for one-bedroom apartments, averaging $1,355. Two-bedroom rentals cost $1,676, reflecting a 1.6% decrease from last month but a 4.5% increase from December 2023. While most Canadian cities see declining rents, smaller cities like Waterloo experience significant hikes, with a 26.1% increase. Overall, average rent in Canada has dropped to a 15-month low of $2,139, yet remains 67% higher than two years ago.
